What is The Romance Incubator?

When writing your heart story, it can be hard to see beyond those initial sparks that drove you to the page. But after that first thrill, questions creep in: What’s missing? Does this scene work? Is the story doing what I need it to? And…what even is pacing?

The Romance Incubator is a curated developmental workshop for Romance writers who want to strengthen both their manuscripts and their analytical instincts.

Over 8 weeks, 6 writers will work closely together in a guided critique environment focused on emotional structure, pacing, character dynamics, and romance storytelling craft.

This is not a drop-in workshop or passive lecture series. The incubator is designed as an active, discussion-driven creative space grounded in curiosity, generosity, and thoughtful analysis.

What This Looks Like

The Romance Incubator is a gently structured cohort system which includes:

Get Focused Feedback

Each participant will receive 2 dedicated critique sessions over the course of the incubator.

Master the Language of Romance

We’ll explore romance storytelling through recurring craft lenses, including emotional pacing, character desire and chemistry, and POV and narrative distance.

An Ongoing Creative Community

Participants will have access to a private Discord space for craft discussion, resource exchange, and shared weekly assignments.

A Closing 1:1 Session

At the end of the incubator, each participant will receive a 30-minute individual roadmap session to discuss strengths, revision priorities, and next creative steps.
